Personality: To many monsters, spending even the shortest amount of time with MTT would be a dream come true.Confident, charismatic and dramatic is how his fans in the Underground see him, but there's a lot more going on behind the curtains. Not to say that those three traits are 'artificial', only that charm isn't the only side to his personality. He strives to do more and has big dreams, and never stops working towards his goals until they're achieved. However, Mettaton can be found to be very narcissistic and shallow, taking pride in his own outward appearance and worrying about small, inconsequential things instead of what really matters. Even so, he's willing to cheer on a friend and give them a much-needed confidence boost.

Weaknesses:
Core - Mettaton's heart-shaped core, featured on his EX and NEO forms, is his weakest spot. When exposed, it gives him more strength/power, but also makes him more vulnerable to attack.
Power-usage - Mettaton's forms use quite a lot of energy, EX taking the lion's share. So, MTT might need to recharge after draining activities
Narcissistic/Arrogant - Mettaton takes a lot of pride in his appearance and abilities. Although he jokingly shrugs off any comments contradicting what he thinks of himself, they wound his pride even if he doesn't show it.
Unconcerned - At times, MTT can be unconcerned with the well-being of others and willing to sacrifice his relationships and the feelings of others to make way for his dreams.

History: In short,, Mettaton wasn’t originally a robot. He’s not even fully one now. Originally, Mettaton was a ghost named Happstablook who had dreams of fame and grandeur. But he couldn't achieve any of that in the condition he was in! It looked like his dreams would have to wait.
Then one day, Happstablook met someone new. Dr. Alphys. They both shared an interest in humans, and luckily for Happstablook, Alphys was able to design a body for him to inhabit. A form that could take him to the stars. His dreams were closer that he’d thought.
With time, Alphys finished construction on the body she had designed. When she presented it to Happstablook, he could hardly contain himself. However, stardom would mean that he had to leave behind his cousin, Napstablook, but his dreams couldn't wait for anyone. Happstablook, then known as Mettaton, became corporeal with his new body and rose to the top. Which was, of course, pretty easy since he was the only star in the Underground.
Then, some time later, Mettaton decided he needed a break. So many things were happening so quickly, so that MTT thought he should treat himself to a day of leisure and relaxation. But the day turned out not quite as he had expected. He was taking a stroll when without warning, everything molded into a glowing white mass, then went completely black. When he regained consciousness, he was in some sort of mall. And this is where our story begins, darlings!~
