The short red-headed child, Anna Lee, slowly opened her eyes and was surprised by what she saw. The night before, she had fallen asleep on a freight train that her best friend, Elliot, and her had jumped on without being noticed. This was not that train. This.. What even was this? It looked like a building, but not one that she had ever been in before. There were strange colored, glowing lights all over the place and the floors were white a shiny. She was more used to being in a shack if she even was in a building.
Slowly, she got up on her feet and rubbed her eyes. That was when it hit her. Where was Elliot?! Panic filled her face. "El-Elliot?!" she shouted. "This ain't funny! We've gotta get goin'. We don't have time fer this." She started to walk around the mall center court, looking in trash cans and behind potted plants. "This ain't tha right place, Elliot. Please.. Just come out an' let's go on our way. We need ta leave 'fore they find us."
She was too distracted by looking for her friend to notice all of the food that was laid out for the new citizens of the mall. The music was a bit strange though.

A large puddle of ink lay on the otherwise spotless floor. Bubbling occasionally in a rhythmic way that was almost like...breathing...actually snoring if the sounds were anything to go by. The surface of the puddle spiked a bit in a jump as if it had flinched when the shouting echoed through the room. Causing a large circular pair of white and red eyes to open on it's surface. ... Where the fuck was this? The puddle drew itself together a bit, piling up until a more gooey blob of a form with horns but the same eyes was created. The blob glanced around a bit with confused animal sounds before Bendy fully formed himself from the waist up. His tail forming the blob and puddle that he still was the waist down.
"What the hell...?" This wasn't the animation studio or in anyway familiar. What was all this? Where was he? He slithered and slid over the table. Fully forming himself to stand at full height and not be dripping everywhere. Getting a closer look at the all the food that he couldn't eat anyway. ... Clearly this place was expecting a lot of guests. But who? And where were they all? He got some sort of answer at least at hearing more shouting, remembering that he wasn't alone in here, and standing up straight with his tail and ears perked up as he turned around to face the source of it all.
Bendy blinked owlishly and still very much confused at the little red headed girl. "Nah I'm not Elliot, whoever that is, who even are you? What is this place?"

Anna looked up at the strange man. She wasn't sure who or what he was. It was best to tres lightly. "I'm Anna Lee and believe me, I have no idea what or where this place is." Putting her hands into pockets. She looked around the room for a moment. The neon caught her eye. "This place is mighty colorful though." She smiled. "It's nice."
Folding her hands, she rocked on the balls of her feet. "I wonder how we got in this place. I was on a train last time I checked." She tapped her chin. "This really is a strange place. I'm not too sure 'bout it." For a moment, she paced around. "What is yer name?"

Post by Dirk Gently on Jun 9, 2017 12:50:53 GMT
The first thing anyone would have seen was a flash of yellow. They say that the color yellow made people happy, and that could be an offhanded explanation for the demeanor of the man wearing the jacket that caused the flash of yellow. He looked around the court with an oddly calm expression that made his face nearly unreadable to whatever he was truly thinking. He didn't recall this place; his last memory was that of a street corner in Seattle, Washington. "This is new." The man whispered in a childlike awe. "The universe literally took me where I needed to be. I did not see that coming!" He spoke without a hint of worry or fear, which was unusual for the situation.
He noticed the music next. He was unfamiliar with the tunes, but it sounded bubbly and energetic enough that it held his attention for a little longer than it probably should have. Soon, his senses were hit with the scents of the food. "A party? Is that what this is?" He scanned for the guests.
His eyes found a little girl in a miner's costume and a creature that seemed to be made of liquid. So, the mysteries sebefore him were: 1) Where this place was, 2) Who the party was for, 3) Who the guests were and 4) Where Todd and Farah fit into all of this mystery. He didn't see either of his friends and that did honestly worry him some. Todd especially was his best friend and something of an assistant to his detective work.
He decided that the first mystery that needed solving were the guests, so he approached them. He held his expression of bubbly excitement. "Hello! I will agree that this place is very strange!" He paid attention just long enough to hear Anna Lee's name. "I am Dirk Gently!" He really did seem way to happy to be there.

Post by Nancy Adams on Jun 10, 2017 20:23:07 GMT
Slowly coming to, Nancy opened her eyes to reveal what appeared to be the neon filled center court of a mall. Glancing around, she saw some stores. None of these stores were occupied, which was kind of odd. Usually malls were filled. After all, it was 1985. They were pretty popular places for teenagers to spend time and food courts were always a great place to snag a quick bite to eat while sight seeing inside of the mall itself. Oh, the sights in malls were wonderful. The handsome looking men and beautiful women. Not to mention the arcades and some of the things inside of the stores. Malls were certainly a paradise where and when she was from.
The question was "How did she get into a mall?". Back at home, they had one mall that she spent time near and that was Sunset View Mall. Now, Sunset View Mall became mostly an outdoor strip mall due to a lack of business. It wasn't in the best part of Hartford. Nor was it in the richest part. While there was one store that was inside the mall, it was only on the other side of main entrance and had the rest of the mall walled off with the usual dead mall hoardings. This was definitely not Sunset View Mall.
A puzzled look grew on her face as she continued to try to figure out what she did to get into a strange mall. She didn't teleport here when she was being Hartford's superhero, Lady Coleco, as she wasn't in uniform. Her green eyes fixed on the other people who were in the room. None of them seemed to know where they were either. Shaking her head, she moved over to them. "This is a mall, guys. A really lame mall. It looks nice though." She laughed. "It'll never get much business with no open store fronts. Not even if they are actually kidnapping us. It's a really weird business tactic anyway. That's why very, very few people even try it." Her eyes moved back up to the neon lights and then back to the group. "I'm Nancy. Nancy Adams: Arcade champion and master pianist."

He chuckled in a cartoonish manner with a wide white grin. His tail waving a bit behind them. "I'll agree with you there, it's bright as hell in here. I've never been anywhere with so much colour before. The name's Bendy, the Dancing Demon." He took a small bow with his tail sticking up straight behind him as he did so. His ears pricked up and he stood up straight immedeatly like a surprised cat at the new arrivals. First pointing to Dirk with a gloved clawed hand. And a grin with another chuckle. "Wow you are bouncy! I like that. Great to meet you too!" Then next pointing to Nancy with the same grin. "Good to meet you too! And good to know what this all even is. Can't say I mind the kidnapping part though." He chuckled again. "Here's an improvement on where I was."
Still with a grin his tail started wagging and swaying happily behind him. Looking as excited as he felt. Because WOW there were so MANY other poeple here and this was so BRIGHT and COLOURFUL and NEW. All of this new and having company for once is pretty much overloading him. He's like a kid in a candy store just standing here and talking.

Far from everyone else, the worse for wear robot was lifeless and slumped in the corner. His ears slumped to the point that the whole one was completely covering the eye below it. Both eyes were dark the light unlit. ... But only for a few more moments. With a few sparking sounds as sparks jumped from his exposed wires, and a bit of jerking as if electrocuted, he just....turned on. Which shouldn't be possible of a machine of his type. He sat up a bit. Just enough to lift his head and get his ears out of his eyes. Causing whirring sounds as he moved his head to look around at the room with eyes lit up like lamps.
....A mall? An honest to god mall? Seriously? And just like he remembered them to be? But that couldn't be possible. Surely things would have changed in 50 years.
The rabbit themed machine got up but stayed in the corner. His movements causing more sounds of whirring and the sounds of straining metal as his stiff mechanics worked at their hardest just to do something as simple as this. Observing the room and those in it. .... Well with how far from normal some of them were this sure wasn't a normal mall. That much was clear. Being unable to speak and well aware of how terrifying others found him, he continued to just stand in the corner and watch, keeping to himself unless anyone would prove brave enough to give him a reason to interact with them.

Post by Mettaton on Jun 12, 2017 0:44:04 GMT
"Good morning, beauties!~" Mettaton EX bawled enthusiastically before he even finished opening his eyes. As soon as he did, it seemed as if a rainbow assaulted his senses. Strange yet lively music sounded from speakers the robot couldn't yet locate and bright neon lights glowed from around the room. There were a lot of people looking out of place and confused, and none of them looked like any monsters he'd seen before. This whole place was unfamiliar, yet he didn't feel too worried. Just confused. "I thought I was in Waterfall..." Mettaton mumbled to himself, recalling the place he could've sworn he was just walking through.
"Hm, did they redecorate?" Mettaton began pacing back and forth, examining the weird place he awoke in. "No... But I have to admit, this place is stunning! I think it could use a few extra touches here and there, though..." He continued talking under his breath and pacing around. Finally, he turned his gaze to the 'visitors'. They seemed mismatched and, again, out of place in this establishment. There was a worn-out-looking animatronic standing alone in the corner and a small group forming nearby. MTT started towards the group, but his magenta eyes shot back to the machine. It couldn't hurt, could it? Even if the robot looked... not so good.
"Hello, darling!" Mettaton greeted while approaching the solitary robot. Mechanical whirrs filled the air. "Do you have any idea of where we are? Not that this place isn't wonderful, but," he paused and glanced away for a moment. "I wasn't planning a trip to... whatever this is."

Springtrap turned his head to Mettaton and the cameras of his eyes changed focus to properly see him. Causing a series of various worn whirrs and clicks. There was no telling whether this robot would be able to 'hear' him, the others he knew would, but then they were also haunted. So he went for the secure option. His ghost speaking but also signing what he was saying with his hands. His hands surprisingly able to move with all the strained and stiff sounds coming from them with the movement of every joint they had. "No idea if you speak ghost or sign, but hey, here goes. No I don't have a clue where we are other than it's a mall. That's far from a normal one all things considered pretty much everywhere." At 'everywhere' he gestured with one hand to himself, Mettamon, and everyone else.

Mettaton blinked as a distantly familiar sound filled his head. With a quiet cough-like sound, he said, "Ah, we don't have malls in the Underground... but yes, I agree that this place is strange. And I'll take a guess that no one else knows what's going on either." He turned to look at all the other people in the room shortly. "Oh, and darling, there's no need to bother with the signing." MTT stayed silent for a moment. "I- I don't really let people in on this and I'd rather put it behind me, but I'm a ghost. And from what I can tell, you are too? Well, a friend of mine built this body for me so I could finally become a star. Isn't it glamorous?" With that, the robot struck a small pose, then chuckled.

Post by Handsome Jack on Jun 14, 2017 1:08:47 GMT
Do you hear the sound of hooves? Of course you do, because here come Butt Stallion, the pony made of diamonds, dazzling under the florescent light. She walks up at a moderate pace, a pony….. made of diamonds, blue hair plated and ties with bows, her blue tail swinging free and of course carrying her rider.
There’s Jack, the Handsome. He smiles down to them all, ego still blown way out of proportion. He runs a hand through his brown hair, fingers tugging at the grey strip in the front. He was dressed, normally for Jack, dark grey pants to match the dark grey jacket, brown waistcoat over a yellow Hyperion sweat shirt over a long white shirt. He still had his mask, hetrochromia eyes of blue and green glittering, gun holster on his right hip.
“Hey there kiddos!” He smiled brightly, stopping Butt Stallion… somehow before he hopped down. “Yes, it’s me, it’s Jack, I know. Now… could any of you beauties tell me where I am? Must have taken a little too much if you know what I mean and woke up here. Nice metal work by the way” He flashed Mettaton a wink.

Anna looked at Dirk and then at Bendy. "It's nice ta meetcha both." For a moment, she looked around again. "This place is pretty colorful an' I've never been in a mall." It sounded like the word 'maul', but that couldn't be right. This seemed like just a building with a lot of gates inside of it. They probably were just not allowed to go into those places. Why else would they be gated off like that? "I don' understand this mall place."
When the others came in, she noticed just how different everyone was. This was like Arcadia, her home planet, except in just one building. Usually people stayed in their own towns back on that planet. Here, it seemed like they were meant to spend time with each other. "I'm gonna go an' look fer a way out." she announced, looking rather determined. Adventuring was what she was born.. grown for. She spent the last few months on the road and loved it. It was just a real shame that Elliot wasn't there with her. It was even incredibly saddening. "Ya'll can figure out more 'bout this place." With that, she ran up, towards the apartments. She'd come back for some of the food in a bit.

Nancy laughed. "Yeah, I have to agree that it's not that bad. I like malls anyway. The one in my neighborhood is mostly closed, so this is actually pretty nice." She started admiring the scenery again. This mall was beautiful. There were just two things that she didn't understand about it. Why was it so empty? This mall had to be new. The floors weren't even dirty, let alone scuffed by a lot of usage. You'd think that people would be moving into this mall in droves. They were very popular places. At least they were where she came from. Also, where were the people? Even the deadest malls had at least some people. Security officers should be roaming the hallways. People should be running stores. The emptiness was just strange.
She looked at Mettaton. "I don't know where Waterfall is, but this is a shopping mall." For a moment, she glanced around again. "Yeah. It needs stores and some nicer fake plants. More neon too. We can make it nicer later." She started to look at the group when the horse came onto the scene. This had to be the only mall to allow live horses. Then again, this one seemed to be made out of diamond or something. Mmmm. Expensive horse. A lot of people here did not appear to be from her home or even era. It was weird.
Realizing that she was probably one of very few people here with knowledge on what this place was, she started to grin. "This is a shopping mall. It's a place where people go to socialize and buy things. Usually they have a lot of stores, but this one seems to be brand new and doesn't look like the people who own it were good enough at starting these businesses to actually get tenants before opening." She pointed up at the neon lights on the ceiling. "Going off of the neon, it's still 1985 or somewhere around it. That was a newer touch that they started to put in these places. It's way nicer than just the boring regular lights. I'm not sure why they have food out here, but I'm going to guess that it's to celebrate something. Maybe the mall's first day open?"

Oh, at hearing that he blinked with a few mechanical clicks and lowered his hands. That made things easier. Much easier. Less stiffness to have to deal with. Going back to standing there still. Tilting his head a bit and raising an ear at the pose MTT struck. Straightening up again before talking back. "Yeah I'm a ghost, and what's left of my meat cage from when I was living, and this bot I got stuck in. ... It's a complicated and gory mess of events. You've got a point though, your body is in much better shape than mine."
His ears pricked up when he heard Nancy say the most likely date. "....But it looks like someone at least knows something about this place. .... '85...but it can't be '85. It's not right. It's been ages since then. Heck, I was actually alive then. What the hell...?" As he spoke more and more he was less talking to Mettaton and more trying to make sense of what he'd just heard by thinking out loud. ... It...it just couldn't be 1985. That was before the bite of '87 and he sure as heck died after that and has been dead a while. It COULDN'T be that era. .... Right?
His ears twitched as he thought and tried to make sense of what he had heard. Not getting far with it.

Bendy waved after Anna. "See ya!" He tiled his head at Jack coming in on....a diamond horse? What? But damn it was SHINY. His eyes went wide eyed a bit. Until he snapped his gaze to Nancy when she started her explanation of the place. Grinning again with tail waving. "I know what a mall is. But in the future?! Cool! Best sneak peek ever." He tail wiggled with even more enthusiasm. He shrugged a bit after a short while. "Went to a lot of effort for the opening, that's one hell of a spread over there." He pointed behind him at the food table. Remembering he couldn't eat a single bit of it but not really bothered by that.
With that thought in mind his thoughts wandered to what he would do about that actually. He hadn't seen any ink around here or heard the machine anywhere. That was a problem. His gaze shifted to the floor as he thought. But he was completely distracted and his eyes went wide again with blown out pupils. .... He's spotted some the moving light spots on the floor reflected off that shiny horse. ... Cat mode activate. The four foot tall ink demon darted to the floor and pounced on the first light in sight. Pouncing from light to light as he spotted a new one nearly every second. Trying to catch them all and having way too many targets to choose from. Everyone within light range might want to watch their step as they might find Bendy underfoot otherwise.
