Revan Rythian Sitting on a table in the neon clad food court, Nancy stared at her apartment key. If this was one of Kilroy's simulations, it was very different from the others. Normally he didn't throw a mix of people into the mix like this. Also, he wouldn't throw her into a brand new mall like this. What sort of punishment would that be? Then again, she was alone. As far as she knew none of her friends were in the mall. She knew that if her boyfriend was there that he would have found her immediately. Being alone was something that she hated, but she wasn't really alone here. There were other people who seemed just as confused about the place as she was. Maybe she was wrong about her nemesis being to blame for this. She got down from the table and looked into one of the vacant restaurant storefronts. Even if this wasn't Kilroy, something was up with this place. She needed to find one of the other Video Soldiers or a way out of this mall. It wasn't even a fun mall. Sure, she had an arcade, but where were the other stores? Why was this place even open if there were only a handful of open stores? Also, where were all of the restaurants? Usually malls would at least have a Cosmic Burger or a PermaPizza. This mall didn't even have candy machines. Taking a deep breath, she started to try and figure out what code it would take to get behind the metal gate and start digging through the refrigerators and supplies. She was getting hungry for sure. If worst came to worse, she could always make her own food. That was one of the perks to having the powers to change objects into other objects.

Rythian's eyes were immediately drawn to the neon 'Food Court' sign as he entered the area. This part of the mall seemed to be just as obnoxiously-colored as the center court. While purple did happen to be one of his favorite colors, this was.. too much. It didn't help that everything here seemed to be a product of technology, no magic whatsoever. Rythian let out a silent sigh - so long as he still had his own magic, everything would be fine.
By this point, Rythian was fairly certain that Zoeya was not here. If she were, he most likely would have found her mingling with the others he found stuck here. While there was still the possibility that she had ended up somewhere else in this seemingly large mall.. well, the pessimistic Endermage wasn't going to get his hopes up. For now, he'd just have to make do with whatever, or whoever, he could find. From what Rythian had seen, most of the other forced inhabitants of the mall seemed to be very different from himself, and he certainly didn't recognize any of them from his world.
But now Rythian's attention fell upon something else, a girl who stood from a table nearby and made her way over to one of the empty restaurant storefronts. He had an inkling that she was searching for something to eat. Now that he'd lost his body stone, hunger was something he now had to deal with as well. Perhaps out of curiosity, Rythian began to approach the girl. He said nothing, and instead simply tried to catch a glimpse of what she was up to.

Taking a deep breath, Nancy tried to teleport into the storefront, hiding her special controller, but took a small shock instead. "That's.. Not supposed to happen." She took a few quick breaths and then banged her fists against the metal gate. However, breaking into the restaurant seemed to be hopeless. It was off to plan B. She needed to find a napkin or something and turn it into food.
When she turned around, she noticed Rythian. "These things are tighter than Fort Knox." she told him, shaking her head. "I'll get into it eventually. I just need the right tools." With a grin, she moved back over to the tables. She let out a laugh and sat on a table. "You know, I've slept in a mall a couple of times, but I never thought that I'd be living in one. The name's Nancy Adams." She held her glove-covered hand out to the man.

In his observation Rythian was about to comment on the girl banging her fists against the locked gate, but before he could, she turned around. He didn't get the reference when she spoke, but its meaning wasn't lost on him. Unaware that Nancy had tried the very same trick and failed, Rythian attempted to teleport behind the gate. No luck, something seemed to be blocking him from reaching the other side. He glared briefly at the gate in thought, but soon turned away to watch the girl wander back over to the tables.
Rythian followed after her, figuring that if she was going to sort out the food situation, he could benefit from it as well. When the stranger introduced herself, he shook her hand. "Rythian," he answered simply, thinking over her words. Living in a mall.. he honestly hoped they weren't going to have to live here, though the key he'd found on his person earlier suggested otherwise. "It's not like anywhere I've ever lived, that's for sure."

Nancy gave Rythian a smile when he shook her hand. "My actual home is nowhere near as nice as this mall." For a moment, she looked up at the ceiling in silence. This was a really strange simulation if it was one. "The mall, place like this, in my home town is mostly shut down. It's inside us falling apart and smells weird, but I still spend time in there sometimes. That mall is my quiet place." She furrowed her brow as she started to look at the empty restaurants. "Even by mall standards, this place is weird."
After taking a deep breath, she shrugged. "Do they have malls where you are from? It seems like we are all from different places." She started to pace around a bit. "I haven't seen any of my friends. At all."

Rythian glanced around at the mall just as Nancy did. Could he even compare this place to the places he'd lived? They seemed far too different. The harsh neon lights along with the emptiness created an eerie atmosphere, though part of that could probably be credited to Rythian's animosity towards technology. Based on the others he'd briefly met with, he doubted anyone else was having the same problem. "Weird doesn't even begin to describe it. I'm.. not really a fan."
He probably wasn't the only one who wanted to get home. Though.. there didn't seem to be any Endermen here, which was nice. He could certainly do without those things spying on him. "I haven't seen any personally, but that's not to say they don't exist." He couldn't help but frown when she mentioned her friends. "I haven't seen any of mine either.."

Nancy gave Rhythian a shrug. "I'm not a fan of how empty and quiet it is. When I hang out in the mall back at home, I usually bring a friend along with me. Someone I know and trust." This was partially because she tended to do reckless and dumb things and having a trusted friend around always was great anyway. She loved attention and loved socialization. "Also it freaks me out a bit to see a brand new mall empty like this and the fact that we are supposed to live here.. Wherever here even is."
For a moment, she looked around again. "What was your home like?" She let out a sigh. "Maybe we'll find some familiar faces sometime. My best friend, Nolan, would be telling us to have some faith and to be patient. What a dork."

"The emptiness and silence doesn't bother me quite as much as the idea of being trapped here. Or at least, I think we're trapped here. I haven't actually gotten the chance to take a good look around." Rythian paused, unsure for a moment how to answer her question. He'd lived in quite a few different places, each of them very different from the last. "My most recent home was an outpost in the desert," he replied, considering for a moment whether or not to mention Blackrock. "Before that, I lived in a castle." To dodge any potential questions, he decided to turn the subject towards her. "What about you?"
Rythian gave a quiet chuckle. "That sounds like Zoey, one of my friends. She'd no doubt be doing the same." Though hidden by the mask, the mage's expression turned to a frown. He wished he could just know for sure that Zoeya was alright, and he would have no problem focusing on his escape. But for now, it seemed as though he'd just have to put the worries out of his mind.
