"The emptiness and silence doesn't bother me quite as much as the idea of being trapped here. Or at least, I think we're trapped here. I haven't actually gotten the chance to take a good look around." Rythian paused, unsure for a moment how to answer her question. He'd lived in quite a few different places, each of them very different from the last. "My most recent home was an outpost in the desert," he replied, considering for a moment whether or not to mention Blackrock. "Before that, I lived in a castle." To dodge any potential questions, he decided to turn the subject towards her. "What about you?"
Rythian gave a quiet chuckle. "That sounds like Zoey, one of my friends. She'd no doubt be doing the same." Though hidden by the mask, the mage's expression turned to a frown. He wished he could just know for sure that Zoeya was alright, and he would have no problem focusing on his escape. But for now, it seemed as though he'd just have to put the worries out of his mind.

Rythian glanced around at the mall just as Nancy did. Could he even compare this place to the places he'd lived? They seemed far too different. The harsh neon lights along with the emptiness created an eerie atmosphere, though part of that could probably be credited to Rythian's animosity towards technology. Based on the others he'd briefly met with, he doubted anyone else was having the same problem. "Weird doesn't even begin to describe it. I'm.. not really a fan."
He probably wasn't the only one who wanted to get home. Though.. there didn't seem to be any Endermen here, which was nice. He could certainly do without those things spying on him. "I haven't seen any personally, but that's not to say they don't exist." He couldn't help but frown when she mentioned her friends. "I haven't seen any of mine either.."

In his observation Rythian was about to comment on the girl banging her fists against the locked gate, but before he could, she turned around. He didn't get the reference when she spoke, but its meaning wasn't lost on him. Unaware that Nancy had tried the very same trick and failed, Rythian attempted to teleport behind the gate. No luck, something seemed to be blocking him from reaching the other side. He glared briefly at the gate in thought, but soon turned away to watch the girl wander back over to the tables.
Rythian followed after her, figuring that if she was going to sort out the food situation, he could benefit from it as well. When the stranger introduced herself, he shook her hand. "Rythian," he answered simply, thinking over her words. Living in a mall.. he honestly hoped they weren't going to have to live here, though the key he'd found on his person earlier suggested otherwise. "It's not like anywhere I've ever lived, that's for sure."

Rythian's eyes were immediately drawn to the neon 'Food Court' sign as he entered the area. This part of the mall seemed to be just as obnoxiously-colored as the center court. While purple did happen to be one of his favorite colors, this was.. too much. It didn't help that everything here seemed to be a product of technology, no magic whatsoever. Rythian let out a silent sigh - so long as he still had his own magic, everything would be fine.
By this point, Rythian was fairly certain that Zoeya was not here. If she were, he most likely would have found her mingling with the others he found stuck here. While there was still the possibility that she had ended up somewhere else in this seemingly large mall.. well, the pessimistic Endermage wasn't going to get his hopes up. For now, he'd just have to make do with whatever, or whoever, he could find. From what Rythian had seen, most of the other forced inhabitants of the mall seemed to be very different from himself, and he certainly didn't recognize any of them from his world.
But now Rythian's attention fell upon something else, a girl who stood from a table nearby and made her way over to one of the empty restaurant storefronts. He had an inkling that she was searching for something to eat. Now that he'd lost his body stone, hunger was something he now had to deal with as well. Perhaps out of curiosity, Rythian began to approach the girl. He said nothing, and instead simply tried to catch a glimpse of what she was up to.

Rythian became aware of the distant-sounding voices and foreign smells shortly before he'd fully woken. Slowly, as he opened his eyes and sat upright, he was bombarded by bright, neon lights from all around. This was nothing like the Twilight Forest, which he should have ended up in. "Zoey?" the mage called out instinctively, pushing himself up onto his feet. He was in a building of some sort, he could deduce that much, and there seemed to be others present. But among them, he didn't see Zoeya. Rythian scanned the small gathering a few times over, but failed to spot his red-headed apprentice. It seemed he was in this on his own.. for the time being, at least.
The Endermage approached the group as inconspicuously as he could, hoping to gather some sort of useful information from the ongoing conversation. They seemed to be in an argument of some sort, or at least, a disagreement about the current location. Rythian himself had to admit he had no idea where he was, or who these other people were. However, one person in particular caught his attention, who was quickly scaling the wall and afterward stared down at the group from the ceiling. His hand seemed to reach for something behind his back.. the realization made Rythian move his hand to hover over his own sword at his hip. Was there going to be a fight here? The mage decided to wait and see, first.

Character Name: Rythian Fandom/ Original Character: Fandom (Blackrock Chronicle, a Minecraft series)
Nickname(s)/ Alias: A few call him "Enderborn" Birthday: April 23rd
Age: 26 Gender: Male Species: Enderborn/Human
Canonical Job: Endermage - While not exactly a profession, Rythian never had any need for currency. Everything he needed to live he produced himself, and lived far away from civilization. Personality:
Rythian considers himself to be very down-to-earth and practical, though on rare occasions his imagination can run wild. While he usually has the short-term bigger picture in mind, he doesn't know what he's going for in the long run. Despite this, he rarely stops to think about what his end goal is until someone asks him. Even then, he rarely has a good answer. Being rather private and reserved, Rythian comes off as mysterious and secretive. While he doesn't hide his origins, he doesn't openly talk about them either. For the most part, he prefers to hear about others over talking about himself. But for those interested enough to ask, he'll sate their curiosity.. up to a point. His story comes in small bits and pieces, requiring increasingly more pressure and encouragement to get him to talk.
Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, Rythian is protective of his friends. However, while it isn't hard to become an acquaintance, it requires much more time and effort for Rythian to consider another a friend. On the other hand, it doesn't require much effort to end up an enemy of Rythian. He's slow to forgive and holds grudges, but he's not openly hostile towards those he dislikes. As a core component of Rythian's personality and character, he despises science and technology more than anything, condemning it for it's destructive nature and unpredictability. He doesn't like those who practice science or use technology - except for those who have managed to gain his trust - and claims that doing so will always end in disaster. Meanwhile, Rythian upholds magic as a superior form of power, and seeks to prove its worth over science.
Powers: Rythian's endermagic allows him to use a number of spells and tricks, including:- Teleportation - Allows Rythian to cover varying distances, dependent how much of his magic reserve he uses to cast it. While it can be useful in a pinch, it's generally not a good idea for him to use it continuously, for it can tire him out.
- Projectiles - Rythian possesses the ability to fire summoned projectiles from his hands - fireball seems to be his preferred choice.
- Healing - Rythian's magic reserve can also be used to heal himself over time, though this works better and faster for smaller injuries and wounds.
Weaknesses:- Holds grudges - While he normally isn't openly hostile to those one his "bad side", Rythian is slow to forgive and / or trust others.
- Lacking goals and motivation - Rythian lacks the drive to do things for any wants or long term goals of his - because he doesn't have many.
- Prone to depression - Rythian has his good days, but in the right (or rather, wrong) conditions he can fall victim to "low" days.
- Harmed by water - Unfortunately due to his the nature of his "home realm" and source of magic, Rythian is burned at the touch of pure water. This can be negated with a spell, but if caught off guard, it's a rather unpleasant experience.
- Self-conscious about his scars - Rythian bears two scars along the sides of his cheeks, where he once tried to cut his mouth wider with a knife. Though they've since healed, he wears a mask which covers the disfiguring scars.
Strengths:- Loyal friend - If one manages to make a friend of Rythian, they generally have a loyal friend for life.
- Incredible magical ability - Rythian is an adept mage, and is experienced in his craft.
- Strong sense of justice - Despite what other's might think, Rythian's heart is usually in the right place, and he strives to make what he believes are the right decisions.
- Level-headed - While he can lose his cool in the wrong conditions, Rythian is generally calm and collected, able to make rational decisions while under pressure.
History:
Rythian was born to two scientist parents, though he spent the majority of his youth in the End. When Rythian was young, he was taken by the Endermen through the portal constructed by his parents, and from then on was groomed by the Queen of the End, the Enderdragon, to become the general and warlord of the future invasion of the Overworld. When Rythian was still very young, he despaired at how different he looked to all the other inhabitants of the End. He took a knife, and cut the sides of his cheeks open so would be able to have the wide mouth and angular jaw of the Endermen. The wounds healed eventually, but it left horrifying scars which he is ashamed of to this day. Now he covers them with a mask, which he seldom removes.
Eventually, Rythian left The End behind and broke free from the Queen’s leadership. He wandered the Overworld, and learned to hide himself from the Queen and the watchful eyes of her Endermen servants. During his time exploring the land he made a few friends, including a red-headed mushroom princess by the name of Zoeya. Rythian traveled with her for some time, but their time together was interrupted when two of Rythian's adversaries, the scientist Lalna his then-rival Sjin, grew tired of the quiet, pleasant life of the old world and with a combination of science and magic, set the world into ruin. There were many casualties, including Rythian and Zoeya, but due to death being little more than an inconvenience in their realm, the world was remade.
Rythian awoke, alone and in the middle of the night, but soon the memories of the destruction of the old world returned to him. He set out on a path of revenge, seeking justice for his and Zoeya's deaths, and for the destruction of the old world. In his quest he was soon reunited with Zoeya, who rejoined him. The two constructed a base of operations, Blackrock Stronghold, and the plan to gather power and prepare for a confrontation was set underway. Despite Rythian's persistence on his revenge plan, he found himself often dragged into side quests and shenanigans by Zoeya. Little by little, as Rythian found himself sidetracked by one thing after another, his desire for revenge and justice faded into the background. It later came to climax in the wake of hardships, confessions and loss, but in the end, it left Rythian complacent in the result of his quest for retribution. Soon after, his focus was set on finding a new place to live with Zoeya (as their stronghold had sustained major damage). Their search led them to a mysterious portal, supposedly one leading to the realm known as the "Twilight Forest". However, upon entering, Rythian instead found himself in a strange mall, unlike any place he'd ever known. Items in Pocket: An eye of Ender necklace Item Taken From Home: Red matter sword
